TENDERLOIN PEOPLE'S GARDEN
This project taught us fluency in our use of visual language and how to create meaning and understanding from the complex world of information that surrounds us. We went on the road to find flyers posted on walls. Then, based on the information on one of the flyers, we made a conclusion about its intentions, created a visual system for it, and designed various deliverables to help it convey its message.

I found the flyer of the Tenderloin People’s Garden on a street in San Francisco. After sorting out all the information contained in its intentions, I concluded that its goal was to “encourage people to grow food voluntarily in the Tenderloin People’s Garden.” After that, I figured out seven intentions from the original flyer. I have proposed three deliverables to accomplish these intentions: posters, a brochure, and a website. I used “harvest, rugged and intriguing” as the keywords
of my design. To achieve this effect, I drew some illustrations and created a handwritten font with an unpolished feeling to show the hands-on nature of the garden.
